3 Types of Network Marketing Distributor

There’s three types of MLM distributor. Understanding what type of distributor you need for your business is essential.
You’re not alone.
It’s the single most frustrating problem in network marketing today: finding and keeping distributors and IBOs in your business.
Identifying the types of distributors that join your business will relieve some frustration and confusion and will keep you focused on building a successful team.
Here’s the top 3 types of Distributors you attract into your MLM
One – ‘Do Nothing’ Distributor
There’s two types of ‘do nothing’ distributor:
  1. A ‘do-nothing’ that admits that they don’t know what they’re doing.
  2. A ‘do-nothing’ that brags that they will bring in tons of people and make you a million dollars.
Ironically, ‘do-nothing’ distributor “A” is better than “B” because they are at least honest with their ignorance or lack of skills.
There’s still room for growth with A, whereas “B” is going to secretly quit the business in two weeks out of embarrassment because they couldn’t bring one person into the business.
I encounter “B’s” all the time.
They’re egos are supersized because they are scared of being rejected.
They want to impress you with their big talk.
The sad thing is: 99% of the big talkers do NOTHING.
Conclusion: Find distributor A and find out if they’re coachable.
Talk with them on the phone when they sign up and go over what their needs are and help them find prospecting methods that could work for them.
If they don’t end up wanting to promote the business that’s fine, lead them gently back to just being a “customer” of the product. No harm done.
Customers are just as important as distributors.
Family & Friends distributor, FF for short, is excited about getting their home business up and running as fast as possible.
They love the product and love everything about network marketing and are “ignorance on fire.”
If you’re also just starting out in MLM, you may get very excited about FF.
FF seems to be building a team very quickly and the dollar signs are dropping over your eyelids while you sleep.
FF brings in 2 to 8 IBOs or distributors within a month or two.
You can’t believe it.
You’re so excited for them and want to have dinner parties and fly with them around the world, once you get rich from their commissions.
Then, a month goes by and FF didn’t bring a person in.
Then, month two goes by and no one new comes in.
On the third month, you get an email from FF.
They sound exhausted.
They admit that they brought in all their friends and family members who were interested in the products.
Now, they spring the question on you:
“What do I do next?”
See, FF only knew how to prospect their “warm market” i.e. friends and family, but now they became quickly dumbfounded.
FF had no idea how to find and prospect the “cold market” i.e. strangers.
FF had no presence on the internet, besides a few hundred so-called friends on Facebook.
FF had no skills in recruiting and prospecting and was afraid to prospect people outside of friends and family.
You try to give them all the scripts and techniques you know, but that doesn’t matter.
Slowly FF’s team starts to shrink because no one on their team wants to “talk to strangers.”
Two months later, FF’s team is gone and FF is looking at other new opportunities online because they feel that “MLM doesn’t work.”
